you can say that i am disappointed, sad, whatever. england's out. jinx is what you can say. penalty shoot outs are always england's jinx. so england did not really lose. it was merely pure luck on portugal's side...

but i'm contented with england's performance yesterday. at least it was the best match they had ever played since WC 2006 started. i think they started off well, with quite a few attempts to shoot the ball past ricardo into the net but well, the players either were not up to their standard or it was just england's (un) luck(iness). there were many instances when it was open goal for england but there wasn't any striker to go forward to kick in that goal. all cos of wayne rooney. he's a total SINNER. he should have known better than to step on that portugal player and shoving his club-mate(ronaldo). any player that thinks for his team would not do foolish things and get himself booked. if there's any 'title' for THE YOUNGEST AND MOST HOT-TEMPERED STAR PLAYER, rooney would have easily clinched it. then up came that clumsy crouch who took the striker role. my bro commented that he's 'just a pole dancing on the field'. and that's quite true(thinking about him trying to take control of the ball makes me lmao!XD) poor beckham got substituted due to injuries. but lennon played well! his substitution for beckham was a commendable one. paul robinson also made quite a few fantastic saves (other than the penalty shoot-outs).

i thought that england might actually had a chance of turning the tables around when portugal missed and the score was down to 1-1. but, gerrard ruined it. sian my lampard missed the first one ): (actually when i saw that he was the first to take for eng, i got a feeling he was going to miss it). beckham, terry and the rest were like beginning to tear when THAT man-u striker score. sigh, i think eng don't deserve this. cos they really were playing their best and better than portugal(i think) even though they were down to 10 men.

england has good players. in fact, they had star players. but, they always don't perform as well. furthermore, there's the second jinx scolari. once again, eriksson had lost to scolari(he was thrashed 3-0). and i really hate seeing that scolari smug once again for defeating eriksson, and more importantly, england. SIGH. but i think the most guilt-ridden one should be eriksson. he made a mistake by not calling up defoe. he made a mistake by calling the arsenal youngster(who did not play at all). as a result of no defoe(and no owen and rooney), he had to use the clumsy pole. sigh, say so much also cannot bring england back to the semis. but i'm thankful france won! haha brazil deserve the loss. france shall kick portugal left-right-up-down and send them packing home. my prediction for finals: GERMANY VS FRANCE (i hope france wins! but i bet there would be biasness on the referee side cos germany's the host afterall) this WC had seen very little goals. the quarters were especially cruel cos the loser was kicked out BASED ON penalty shoot-out(which means by LUCK)

anyhows, i am still proud of england! there's still euro 2008 and WC 2010! lol XDXDXDXD
